Fig Tree Camp is a permanent safari camp located in Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya, established in 1978, Fig Tree Camp Masai Mata is one of the longest-operating camps in Masai Mara ecosystem that offers accommodation. Fig Tree Camp sits directly on the banks of the Talek River within a prime wildlife area with year-round game viewing and excellent birding used year-round by resident animals and by migratory herds as the area around Fig Tree Camp supports high-density resident wildlife throughout the year, our luxury tents overlook the Talek River and all rooms have en-suite bathrooms and a private verandah, Situated on a crook in the Talek River, Fig Tree Camp snuggles neatly within a dense forested grove above a lolling hippo hotspot, this old stalwart sits inside Kenya's iconic Masai Mara – deservedly one of Africa's most beloved wilderness areas – and is very popular with repeat visitors, welcome to Fig Tree if you long for a vintage-style Masai Mara Safari, where the atmosphere is grand and even the waiters are formally dressed. Beyond the camp, the Mara is wild and wonderful, and it's the combination of chic comfort and wilderness that makes visitors return time and again. Fig Tree is a classic. Fig Tree Camp features a total of 80 distinct, Meru-style safari tents and garden chalets set along the banks of the Talek River The bulk of the accommodation is in Meru-style tents, each with a furnished front porch and large interior space. All have the glamorous air of those old-style safaris, with quality furnishings and en-suite bathrooms. There are 32 garden lodge rooms with solid walls as well. Electricity is generator-powered and available most of the day and night (although hot water can be intermittent).

The Fig Tree Camp offers both luxurious tents and chalet which accumulate to 80 luxurious tents. The accommodation comprises of;

  • 38 River front Deluxe tents that overlook the Talek River each with a double and single bed
  • 32 Bush view superior chalets with double and single beds and stunning views of the Masai Mara.
  • 10 superior Ngamboli tents on the banks of the Talek river

All tents feature;

  • Safe box, tea & Coffee making facility, hair dryer, mosquito nets, private bathrooms, verandah, director safari chairs, desk and free toiletries
